About

Pieces of life, songs of resistance, mostly interpreted in French by a female voice, the French band Cartouche disseminate since 2004, its positive rage on the road of Europe.

After a first opus, Je trahirai demain, recorded in London in 2007 with intonations of punk from the eighties (Blondie, Clash, etc), for the second album “A corps perdu”, Lucas Chauvières from the studio Soyouz (Paris) gave more power to the eleven songs of the album. In june 2014, the third album, “Bread & Roses” came out, recorded at the Studioscope in Angers, by Cali. The 10 days spent with him and his work, made the sound to developp. The melodies are sometimes more melancholic but some others, more angry.

For the fourth album, A venir, the band was back to Angers at the Studio de l’île d’amour, with Stephane Lefèvre at the recording and Gilles Theolier at the production. Here, the sound of the english and french songs, became more “garage”.

Women fights, animal’s rights, friendship, time to live, exil ; since 20 years cartouche is still inhabited by the desire to live and share music and emotions with “the eternal unsubmissive to our humanity”.

After the departure of Alex and Thierry, it’s with a new line-up tha renews irself that Cartouche begin the year 2025 : Jb on guitar and Jérémy on drums have joined Raymonde (bass) and Géraldine (vocals).

And here we go again!
